At the mini roundabout in front of Conwy Castle, turn down the hill and through the narrow archway, B5106 signed Trefriw. Follow this road for 2.7 miles, and you will see a cream and brown hotel building called “The Groes Inn.”
Turn right immediately after the hotel and travel for 0.7 miles. Turn right (note small tourist finger post signs for “Fishing”, “Gwern Borter” and “Tyddyn Mawr”). Travel 100 yards over a small bridge, then take the left-hand fork. Pass Gwern Borter Holiday Accommodation and 200 yards along the lane, bend left. Immediately after the bend, turn right into a narrow lane, pass the entrance to Tyddyn Mawr, and, 200 yards up the lane, the site entrance is on the right.
The steep, narrow access lane to the site is owned and maintained by Conwy Council. It is not suitable for large vehicles. When the hedges are trimmed back, the lane can barely take an ambulance. Ordinary cars, SUVs, etc., should not usually have a problem.
