Brian Gregson Fundraising

Support ongoing work at Rowen Scout Camp

Conwy District Scout Camp Rowen organised a fundraising event via JustGiving to support ongoing work at Rowen Scout Camp in memory of Brian Gregson, 1941-2024.

All donations will go to Conwy District Scout Camp for use in ongoing work at Rowen Scout Camp / Gwersyll Parc Mawr.

Rowen Scout Campsite was very special to him. He was partly responsible for upgrades to the site’s facilities in 1980 and again in 2008.

For nearly sixty years, Brian dedicated himself to the Scout Movement, passionately working to empower children and young people by building their self-esteem and equipping them with skills for a brighter future. Even after retiring, he remained an active member, making significant contributions, including leading the effort to create inclusive facilities for girls and individuals with disabilities at the local scout camp and raising £60,000 for the project.

As part of the Scout Centenary, he spent four years compiling a comprehensive history of Scouting in the Borough, now preserved in the Conwy Archive and Museum Service. When the Old Colwyn Scout Group faced challenges, Brian stepped in, surveyed their headquarters, raised £40,000 for its refurbishment, and secured £5,000 for new camping equipment and storage. He also served as Chairperson of the Group Committee, exemplifying his unwavering commitment to supporting Scouting at every level.
